Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday, hit back at BJP President Amit Shah. Responding to Shah’s comments that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has closed its doors forever for Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party Chief said that people will close the doors on BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Amit Shah, who flagged of BJP’s Praja Chaitanya Yatra at Palasa on Monday, had termed Chandrababu Naidu as a “U-turn” Chief Minister and said that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister would not be allowed to do the same with NDA again.
Reacting to this, Chandrababu Naidu, in an interview to ANI, said, “Who asked him (Amit Shah) to open the door? Did I ask him or beg him?”
Naidu further commented that after the General Elections, the people of India will close the doors on BJP.
While addressing a public gathering in Srikakulam district, Naidu said that BJP had betrayed Andhra Pradesh by not fulfilling the promises made to the state. “They are threatening and attacking us when we ask them to fulfill the promises made to Andhra Pradesh. We are not afraid of them,” Naidu added. The Andhra CM even accused BJP of exercising control over institutions to target its political opponents.
Telugu Desam Party had earlier broken its ties with BJP to come out of NDA. The ruling party in Andhra Pradesh has been demanding the Special Status Category and other promises to be fulfilled for the state.
