Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that his party (Telugu Desam Party) would back the call for protests against PM Narendra Modi’s visit to Vizag on Friday.
Addressing a teleconference with TDP leaders, Chandrababu Naidu said that the party would support the protest by Prateekya Hoda Sadhana Samiti Joint Action Committee against the centre, for not granting special status to Andhra Pradesh. The protest is also expected to express resentment against the centre’s failure to fulfill several promises made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
The Prateekya Hoda Sadhana Samiti Joint Action Committee said that Narendra Modi had no moral right to visit Andhra Pradesh as his government hadn’t fulfilled any of the promises made to the state.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to preside as the Chief Guest for the Praja Chaitanya Sabha being organised by BJP in Visakhapatnam.
The BJP leaders of the state have been busy decking up the stage for the public meeting on Friday. The security too, has been tightened
across the city given the cross-border tensions and the protests that are likely to take place in Vizag. Earlier, PM Modi faced several protests when he had visited the state to address a public meeting in Guntur. This post was last modified on 28/02/2019 4:38 pm
