Holy Cross Church stands as an ornament of Visakhapatnam near old Gajuwaka in symbiosis with urban and rural life. The foundation stone of the pink shaded architecture is laid by Johannes Joachim cardinal Degenhardt, the archbishop of Paderborn during February, 1995.

The vast arena has an aegis of peace and love. The walls are showcased with the paintings of Jesus life, significant among the Christian Vizagites. The evening mass starts at 6 00pm every day. Adorations take place on every Friday and Wednesday, dedicating every Wednesday to St.Jude. The church fest is celebrated with pomp and glory during last week of October participated by in numerous people in the city. The feast day is called “novina” which unlike other churches is celebrated for nine weeks where as others do it for nine days. The church is blessed with four diverse congregations from the country mainly from Kerala, Mangalore and Goa holding religious significance in the city. Holy cross has a share in the social embellishment of the city. Few affiliated schools are run by the church. They are located in the rural section of Visakhapatnam for the underprivileged children. Few schools being Gloria, St.jude, Nirmala high school, g.v.k etc located at Rajivnagar, Yallamanchili, Vdlapudi respectively.

The prayer hall can accommodate hundreds of people welcomes both Christian and non Christian communities. The presbytery and parish hall are inaugurated last year. The sacred and long holy cross inside the church is the main attraction. The impressive interiors, sculptured walls and the exclusive portico are magnificent. Holy cross church is flamboyant with celebrations throughout the year, devotes attend mostly during festive days in Visakhapatnam like New Year, Christmas, Easter, whitsun, good Friday and many more.

Morning; 6 00am to 11 00pm
Evening; 4 00pm to 8 00 pm
They aim at keeping alive, the flame of faith at Holy Cross and carry the knowledge and responsibility to the generations to come. The parish priest of the church is rev. Fr. Thomas manalil and the name for the impeccable admirable architecture goes to rev. bro. k Emmanuel. The father of the Church Fr. Thomas has been dedicatedly performing his duties.
