The final day of the CII partnership summit saw 734 MoUs being signed which are supposed to be bringing in Rs 4,39,765 crore of investment, along with an estimated 11 lakh job opportunities to Andhra Pradesh.
The 3-day summit drew a huge participation of over 4253 delegates from around 50 countries, out of which, there were 280 International delegates, 3673 domestic delegates, and approximately 300 students.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was a part of the bilateral meetings which consisted of industry leaders from major companies like Mahindra Group, Essel Group, Reliance, Grasim Industries, Adani Group, Diageo, Aegis, Toray (Japan), Lixil (Japan), West Energy Systems, Dasan (Korea), Autogrid, Tata, Amway, among others during the CII partnership summit.
Another important event of the summit was the foundation stone ceremony of the International Convention Center, Hotel and Shopping mall by Lulu Group at Visakhapatnam, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kakinada and Indian Institute of Packaging, Kakinada. Also, there was a book launch event during the summit. (‘Leading the transformation’ by KPMG and ‘Investor Facilitation Handbook’ by Department of Industries & Commerce).
Mr S Eswaran, Minister for Trade & Industry, Singapore, said that Singapore is deeply committed to the partnership with the government of Andhra Pradesh. Singapore is also working with Japan in developing urban solutions for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
Mr Paramasivum Pillay Vyapoory, Vice President of Mauritius, said there are strong economic and business complementarities between the two regions. Mauritius could also serve as a bridgehead to Africa markets for Indian investors, he added.
