Vizag will be witnessing the third consecutive CII Partnership Summit from February 24 to 26. The previous CII partnership summit that was held in 2016, led to the signing of 328 MoUs, out of which 50% of the MoUs have translated into projects thus far. As per Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, a whopping Rs 2,82,715 Crore investment has been pumped into the state through the last meet.
Similar to the last one, this year’s summit too is being awaited with much hope. The state HRD minister, Mr. G. Srinivas Rao said, “All the arrangements are being made to make the event a grand success, like the previous two.”
The event will be graced by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, representatives of 39 countries, and around 2000 industrialists among others.
CII has very defined objectives for the summit this year, some of them being, facilitating and attracting investments, fostering innovations and exploring new ways of creating value and novel business models, bringing together various stakeholders to facilitate policy dialogue. Through these objectives, the officials expect favourable outcomes such as an increased resonance of “Brand India” around the world, increased awareness among potential investors about investment opportunities in India, etc.
The CII Partnership Summit 2018 will be looking to highlight the investment opportunities in logistics, food processing industries and tourism sector. Also, the investment agreements to be signed over the next week would offer employment to at least 4.25 lakh persons as proposed by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Considering the prominence of the guests who’ll be visiting Vizag for this prestigious summit, the city’s police have been beefing up the security arrangements here.
It has been learned that in addition to the city’s police, personnel from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakha rural, East Godavari, Krishna, and other districts, are being employed to make up a total force of around 2600 security personnel.
