Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, will be visiting Vizag on 17 December, 2021. As part of his visit, he will inaugurate projects of the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) in the city.
Reportedly, according to the itinerary, the Chief Minister will reach Vizag at 5:00 pm on Friday, at the Visakhapatnam International Airport. He will meet officials at the airport and then proceed to the NAD junction, where he will inaugurate the NAD flyover. Then, the Chief Minister is expected to inaugurate several projects undertaken by the GVMC and VMRDA.
It could be noted that the GVMC & VMRDA projects, that are expected to be officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister, are the Waste-to-Energy Processing Plant at Kapuluppada, worth Rs. 280 crore, the Multi-Level Car Parking Project (MLCP) at Jagadamba Junction, worth Rs. 11 crore, and the renovated VUDA Park, near Beach Road, worth Rs. 33 crore. The aforementioned projects also awaited inauguration the last time the Chief Minister (CM) was expected to visit Vizag on 23 October, 2021, but got cancelled in the last hour.
Post inaugurating the VMRDA-led projects, the Chief Minister will proceed to the AU Convention Centre on the Beach Road, where he is scheduled to attend the wedding of Vizianagaram DCCB Chairman, N Naidu Babu’s daughter, Divya Naidu.
Gearing up for the CM’s visit, District Collector, A Mallikarjuna IAS, has directed officials to make necessary arrangements to receive the Chief Minister at the airport. Vizag Police Commissioner, Manish Kumar Sinha IPS, inspected the arrangements made for the visit.
