The Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of GITAM Institute of Technology – GITAM University is back with their magnum opus, their annual college fest ‘iSquareR 2k17’. The objective of the IETE (Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers) student chapter, who conducted this fest, is to promote the advancement of Electronics and Telecommunications as a profession.
The national level fest is one that is look forward to, attracting people with cash prizes and competitions that are great to be a part of. The two-day fest happening now has the theme of Resource Regulation. Filled with events and workshops, the first day of iSquareR 2k17 saw participation from over 700 students. On the occasion, the student president D Dheerak, HOD and Convenor Prof K Malleswara Rao, Faculty Advisor of IETE K Karuna Kumari, the Vice Principal, Prof Dharmaraj Cheruku, the Principal Prof K Lakshmi Prasad made their presence felt.
Chief Guest of the inaugural was GV Ramesh, Project Director of Kovvada Nuclear Power Project and the guest of honour was Varun Agarwal, filmmaker, CEO and author. With students from all over the city participating in the fest, it was a sight to see.
At the Technical and Art Expos, students displayed their every talent through projects and drawings. The Artificial Intelligence Workshop caught everyone’s attention through proficient insight into the field of robotics. Capture the Flag and Superhero Smackdown were fun to be a part of. The Musical Night that was conducted as a part of the cultural programmes left the crowd enticed.
