The citizens of Vizag enjoyed a blissful Sunday with brief spells of rain in the morning as well as the evening, continuing the trend of decent weather in the city from the past 3 days. Other than that, cloudy skies and largely cool weather was witnessed in the city throughout the day. On Monday morning, people woke up to light rain in parts of the city. The forecast bodes well for the next 3 days as well. With a low-pressure area likely to form over the Bay of Bengal, Vizag is expected to cool down with low temperatures and enjoy pleasant weather till 18 August 2021.
As per the weather forecast, by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), a cyclonic circulation is situated over the Bay of Bengal, near North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. It is expected to move southwestwards and result in a low-pressure area over Northwest and West Central Bay of Bengal.
Due to this low-pressure area, widespread rainfall is predicted over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, including Vizag, and cool temperatures are expected, below 34 degrees Celsius. This weather is expected to continue in the city from 16 August to 18 August 2021.

The rainfall is expected to temper down after 19 August 2021, with cloudy skies predicted during the day. Strong winds, pacing up to 40-50 kmph, are expected to blow along with the Andhra Pradesh – Odisha coast. In this regard, the Cyclone Warning Centre in Visakhapatnam has issued a warning for fishermen, asking them not to venture into the sea till 19 August.
In the meanwhile, a large number of people left their homes on Sunday, with it being Independence Day and the weather being easy. Popular tourist areas like Rushikonda Beach witnessed heavy rush during the day.
