The 5th ODI match between India and New Zealand is going to be held on 29th of October (Saturday). The news of the cyclone ‘Kyant’ came around the same time. The city faced a lot of troubles during ‘Hudhud’, two years ago, but came out emerging stronger. Though ‘Kyant’ is not as powerful as Hudhud, it did worry Vizagites.
In the latest update, it is being said that ‘Kyant’ cyclone threat has been put off. According to the India Met Department (IMD), the cyclone has weakened into a deep depression, hence will cause heavy rainfall during the weekend.
The match hasn’t been cancelled though. The ODI match between India and West Indies was cancelled due to Hudhud. Vizagites hope that this doesn’t happen this time as well. Most of the tickets have already been sold and everyone is in full mode to cheer Team India.
‘Kyant’ is 320km south-east of Visakhapatnam and let’s hope it weakens further!
