A cyclone warning alert has been issued to Odisha and Andhra Pradesh by India Metrological Department (IMD) on Monday. Regarding this, the details of the alert were collected from Cyclone Warning Centre in Vizag.
As per the information received, heavy rains are likely to lash Vizag in the coming few days. The depression over the Bay of Bengal is being expected to magnify into a cyclone, thereby causing downpours in the city.
An official from the warning centre said, ” It has currently intensified from low pressure to depression. It is situated at a distance of 690 km South East away from Kalingapatnam.”
On asking about the time of the effect, the official mentioned, ” In the coming 3 days, the depression might change into a deep depression and further into a cyclone affecting parts of Odisha and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.”
It has been reported that heavy rains might lash out in Vizag from Tuesday night onwards.
In addition to issuing the prerequisite warnings, the officials have also alerted the fishermen from not venturing into the sea.
Further updates from the officials are awaited. Keep checking this space for timely information on Vizag weather.
