Film director Gautham Vasudev Menon met with a car accident on Thursday. ‘The Dhruva Natchathiram’ director was reportedly travelling from Chennai to Mahabalipuram when his car had a head-on collision with a lorry. As per the reports, Gautham’s car was hit by a tipper lorry at around 3.30 am at Chennai’s East Coast Road. Luckily, the director has escaped the accident with minor injuries while his vehicle has been completely damaged.
Reports say that a case has been registered with the Guindy Traffic Police while further details are yet to be known. The police have, however, confirmed that the ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ director was neither speeding nor under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred.
The director, who is widely acclaimed for his movies, is a popular name among the Telugu audience as well. His ‘Ye Maaya Chesave’ and ‘Gharshana’ had emerged as hits at the box office. His other dubbed movies, such as ‘Cheli’, ‘Raghavan’, and ‘Yentha Vaadu Gani’, are also popular among the Tollywood fans.
Gautham Menon is currently shooting for his upcoming ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ starring Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Ritu Varma among others.
