Waltair Club and DATRI join hands
Waltair Club in association with DATRI Blood Stem Cell Donors Registry organized a drive to recruit Vizagites to donate at Pearl Hall today. The volunteers from Waltair Club and DATRI conducted a motivational and awareness based session.
The only hope of curing a person suffering from Blood Cancer and other fatal blood disorders is to donate for stem cell transplant. You could just be the life saver someone needs just by having it in you to donate willingly. The probability of finding a genetically matched donor is 1 in 10,000 or 1 in a million.
As of 2016, Andhra Pradesh with a population of 52.5 million has a mere 23,466 people registered to donate as potential stem cell donors. Out of this number only 15 have so far come forward as life savers. The call for more people to come forward and register is very much needed. Anyone between the age groups of 18-50 can register as a blood stem cell donor with DATRI.
If interested to register as a donor, then please contact Ravi: +91 9642094433 or Srujana: +91 9035270021.
