“For all those who need to travel interstate or intrastate during the lockdown period, an emergency e-pass will be needed to enter AP after lockdown hours,” said Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) D Gautam Sawang. Issuing of e-passes has begun from Monday. Cases will be registered against the violators and vehicles may be seized of those who travel against the lockdown rules. A similar situation was witnessed last year when everyone entering AP or travelling in AP was told to compulsory carry an e-pass issued by the police. The decision was taken in order to control the rise in the number of cases reported daily in Andhra Pradesh.
For getting an E-pass, people of Vizag should avail it from the AP Police citizen portal. One has to send their personal details like full name, address, Aadhaar number, vehicle number, starting and ending points, email ID and purpose of travel, along with proof to the provided WhatsApp number. After verification of the provided details, police will issue an emergency e-pass sending it to the individual’s provided Whatsapp number and email ID. Phone numbers of the persons traveling along should be submitted and no forwarded messages of the e-pass issued by the AP Police will be accepted during the time of travel.
To report violations against lockdown rules, people can Dial the numbers 100 and 112.
E-pass can be availed through the citizen portal, AP Police Twitter and Facebook
