Traffic in the city to be eased out with this new initiative

Morning hours are often the rushing hours for both students and employees. The roads are filled with people and the traffic sometimes gets really hard to control. The situation gets worse if there are a couple of institutions close to each other. With this issue in mind, the traffic police department, along with the GVMC, has introduced staggered timings of schools and colleges so that they can avoid uncontrollable commotion.

The plan to ease out traffic

The Kanithi road in Gajuwaka has more than 10,000 students heading to schools and colleges at the same time which is located in the same area. However, the rescheduled timetable will definitely reduce the traffic and makes it more comfortable to the department of traffic police.  This initiative has been implemented after a two-month intensive survey.  More than a dozen educational institutions have rescheduled their timings abiding by the new rule. As per the sources, Commissioner of Zone-V, R.Somannarayana told that there has been a variation of 10-15 minutes gap. He said that with most of the traffic occurring between 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.,

and 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., this problem can actually be sorted. The schools which start at 8:30 a.m. will now start by 8:15 a.m. and colleges will start a little late.

Reportedly, P.Ramana, Circle Inspector of Gajuwaka has told that a number of children are being brought to the educational institutions in four-wheelers, two-wheelers, and auto-rickshaws. Due to this, there are efforts being made to cater to the traffic woes during the peak hours and there will be a survey done after a couple of weeks in order to check the result. He also said that depending on the result, more such initiatives will be proposed for similar problems in different areas. Many of the schools have, however, agreed to revise the timings with an immediate response after attending the meeting. This meeting has been jointly organized by the traffic department and the GVMC. These new timings will be implemented from the 16th

 of August.
