The King George Hospital (KGH) will soon come up with emergency department, to handle casualty cases more cautiously and cater patients with best treatment, doctors, medicines and IRCU and ICU beds.
With the help of qualified surgeons and doctors, this department of KGH will provide complete treatment to the patients in critical condition. The present casualty department has 20 beds which turn out to around 50 with a team of doctors round the clock. The present equipment will be replaced with new ones to deal with the emergency cases.
Around 10-15 cases can be admitted per day in the hospital, after the completion of construction of the emergency medicine department. The department will also provide accommodation to the attendants of the patients with proper facilities. Around 50-60 attendants can be accommodated in the building to stay for three days to a week.
Reportedly, the KGH superintendent G Arjuna said, “The new building is being constructed with Rs. 4.3 crore. We are changing the present casualty department to emergency medical department as it is best suitable for the emergency cases and it will have 10 beds of IRCU and ICU with the latest instruments and rest 40 beds will be for other critical patients under emergency treatment and observation
.”“The department will have 12-15 doctors and surgeons in total of which three doctors of specialization in doctor of medicine (MD), general surgery and orthopedics will be available for 24 hours,” he added.
