The President’s Fleet Review teaser, released by ENC, provides the history of this grand ritual. Dropping a sneak peek into the grand event, the official handle wrote that Visakhapatnam would host nearly 50 ships from the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Merchant Marine for the President’s Review. It also added that this event will be followed by a flypast by nearly 50 aircrafts.
It could be noted that along with the President’s Fleet Review, the ENC is also hosting MILAN ‘22 in Vizag. This event will be held from 25 February, 2022 to 4 March, 2022.
MILAN is a biennial exercise that started in 1995 and was being held at the Andaman and Nicobar Islands until 2018. Originally, this exercise was supposed to take place in Vizag in 2020 but had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, it will be conducted for the first time in mainland India in 2022, with increased scope and complexity.
To honour the commissioning of INS Visakhapatnam and to celebrate Navy Day 2021, Yo! Vizag is holding Nautical Series, an endeavour to tell compelling stories about Vizag shores.
