Too many exciting films releasing this January and we can’t wait for 2019!

2018 has treated us to some terrific films. Rangasthalam, Mahanati, 96, Andhadhun, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ratsasan were a few of the many films that held our captive this year. However, there’s more to rejoice in 2019 and the first month of the new year promises a lot in store.

Here are some exciting films lined up for release in January 2019, that have got us looking forward to New Year.

#1 NTR: Kathanayakudu

Nandamuri Balakrishna in NTR

The first part of the hugely-awaited biopic of legendary Telugu actor and politician, NTR will be hitting the screens on 9 January. The film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role while the likes of Rana Daggubati, Vidya Balan, Kalyanram, Rakul Preet Singh, and Nithya Menen would be seen in other prominent roles.

#2 Vinaya Vidheya Rama

Vinaya Vidheya Rama

Having succeeded with his previous Sankranti releases, actor Ram Charan will once be testing his luck in 2019 with Vinaya Vidheya Rama. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film promises to be a high-voltage action-entertainer and also casts Vivek Oberoi as the nemesis. The film will be releasing on 10 January.

#3 Petta

Rajnikanth in Petta

One of the most-awaited films releasing next year, Rajnikanth’s Petta will be marking the Pongal season in 2019. To hit the screens on 10 January, the film is expected to show our beloved superstar in an exciting avatar once again. Petta also features Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Simran among other stars.

#4 Uri

Vicky Kaushal in Uri

Starring the extremely talented Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, Uri is based on India’s surgical strike in 2016. The film has got our attention with its promising trailer and will be releasing on 11 January in 2019.

#5 Manikarnika

Kangana Ranaut in Manikarnika

Jointly directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut, Manikarnika charts the exceptional journey of the Queen of Jhansi. Made on a grand scale, the magnum opus has already hit the right note with its impressive trailer. The film will be releasing on 25 January.

#6 Thackeray

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Bal Thackeray

Thackeray is based on the life of Shiv Sena supremo and popular Indian politician Bal Thackeray. The bilingual film, which will be hitting the screens on 25 January, has raised quite a few eyebrows with its trailer and is billed among one of the eagerly awaited films in 2019.
