IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, met Cisco and Facebook India representatives on Friday in Delhi to discuss various programmes which are being conducted by the state government.
Cisco Managing Director, Amit Malik is keen on tieing-up with the Andhra Pradesh Government in various aspects like cyber-security, centre of excellence for agriculture, testing quality of drinking water through sensors and other issues.
Malik met Nara Lokesh and expressed his company’s will to work with state government. Lokesh said that the government was already working with Google for providing WiFi in villages and asked Cisco to become partners in the programme.
Facebook India Government and Politics Outreach Manager, Nitin Saluja, also evinced interest in working with the state government. The government has decided to take various welfare programmes which are being implemented by various departments to the front of the people using Facebook.
Also, Lokesh invited the representatives to visit Andhra Pradesh soon.
