Gautam Gambhir, on Wednesday, has quit as the captain of the IPL (Indian Premier League) side Delhi Daredevils, in the ongoing tournament. Daredevils Coach Ricky Ponting and CEO Hemant Dua were also present at the conference. Gambhir told that he felt that this was the right time as they still have a chance to win. Shreyas Iyer has been announced as the new skipper of the franchise
The left-handed batsman led Kolkata Knight Riders in past few seasons and was bought by the Daredevils franchise at this year’s player auction at a price of Rs 2.80 crore.
