GITAM (Deemed to be University), on Friday, signed an MoU with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), in Vizag, to introduce Computer Science Business Systems (CSBS) into the course from 2019 academic year. The course, reportedly, is intended to make the students ready to meet the growing demand for talent in digital technologies.
In this regard, TCS Academic Interface Programme Head Chandra Koduru and GITAM Registrar Prof KVGD Balaji exchanged the MoU document at the University‘s campus in Vizag. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Koduru said that TCS designed the course in order to equip the students with the latest developments in the fields of communication and other digital technologies. He further informed that the course was recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). After enrolling in the course, the students will also be offered internships in the organisation, he added.
GITAM In-Charge Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivarama Krishna said that focus was being laid on training the students as per the current industry needs. Principal K Lakshmi Prasad, Head of Department for Computer Science, K Thammi Reddy, Advanced Technology Solutions Director Gopal and GITAM Hyderabad Campus Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof N Sivaprasad were also present at the event.
