Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu
Around 200 delegates from different countries are taking part in the Happy Cities Summit which is being organised in Amaravati from 10th April to 12th April. Cherukuri Sreedhar, Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) was in charge of all the arrangements to make due emphasis on the idea of citizen happiness which is attaining importance throughout the world. Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev too graced the event among other prominent personalities.
Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu is the brand ambassador for this summit. He believes that the summit is conducted to make Amaravati a more happy and liveable place, as said in a teleconference with the APCRDA officials. The summit will discuss the urban solutions and more innovations, especially for the new and promising cities.
The CM said Amaravati would represent pride and rich customs of Andhra and will be among the top five cities in the world. He also said that one should be cautious while designing the construction of the city if he/she desires to make the technological and economic advantages to reach every common person in the state to make Amaravati a global standard for the ‘citizen happy index’.
The summit is being used as a medium to showcase the advanced urban innovations that will be set in 21st-century cities both in India and globally. The activities are planned in such a way that it provides stakeholders with opportunities to use real and practical teaching for implementing in their individual cities and enthusiastically engage the citizens in planning and designing their cities.
In addition, the Happy Cities Summit is also offering a stage for talks on the burning urban issues and to commence initiatives to deal with the turmoil of urbanisation like preparing cities to be comprehensive by bringing better opportunities like reasonable accommodation, affordable transportation, available education and significant employment.
