Visakhapatnam railway zone will be anounced soon, says MP Haribabu

BJP Member of Parliament, K. Haribabu, has said that a new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam would soon be announced officially.

Haribabu, at a meeting in Visakhapatnam, said that complications with Odisha are being sorted out in regards of the zone.

The BJP leaders from Andhra Pradesh met BJP President, Amit Shah, in New Delhi recently, and the decision was taken on this regard.

“The Railway Board was averse to the establishment of the new zone. Its formation is a political decision. The Railway Minister would issue instructions to the board in this regard soon,” Mr. Haribabu said.

There are issues relating to the boundaries of the new zone. Once the boundaries are confirmed, steps for the establishment of railway zone in will commence, the MP mentioned.

“Railway zone to Visakhapatnam”, is one of the vows BJP has promised to the state of Andhra Pradesh during the 2014 elections campaign.
