We all know what a beautiful city Visakhapatnam is. Now, how awesome would it be to see its beauties from the skies above? The sights of our beloved city amidst lush green hills and the deep blue waters from a helicopter would be an enthralling experience.
Helicopter Tourism in Visakhapatnam
This Heli-Tourism project, which was deemed to fulfil this long-lasting experience, is soon set to be a reality in the city. Thanks to the constant efforts put in by the concerned officials, the helicopters are finally set to take off. As the next step in the project, the choppers will be whizzing in our skies for a trial run. The dates for trial runs have been decided as the 16th and 17th of October. Within the next 15 days, the officials will allow the public as well to take rides. Reportedly, the trial runs will happen until December this year. Depending on the response garnered, the authorities will be taking a call on the future plans of the project. Subsequently, depending on the response received, the project would be extended to Arakku and Annavaram as well.
The officials have also decided to make the tickets available through an online portal on the state’s tourism website. The fare charged for a 10-minute tour will be Rs 2500 per head. This is comparatively lesser as compared to the Rs 3500 charged per head for the Heli-Tourism in Hyderabad.
Revenue for Pawan Hans
It is a known fact that Sky Choppers was the company that undertook this project in the city. However, the talks did not reap any fruits which lead to VUDA terminating the contract with the company. It was after Pawan Hans entered into the scene that the project started taking major strides. It is also to be noted that the cost involved and the revenue generated will both be associated to Pawan Hans. VUDA will only be providing helipad facilities in the VUDA park.
