The Hindi remake of popular Telugu film Arjun Reddy has been titled as Kabir Singh. Starring Shahid Kapoor in the titular role, the film is also being directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and will be hitting the screens on 21 June next year.
Taking to social media to share the same, Shahid Kapoor shared the film’s poster and wrote, “Arjun Reddy was loved and appreciated now it is time for Kabir Singh! Get ready to see him in 2019.”The film will be featuring Kiara Advani as the female lead. The actress too shared the film’s title and said, “Arjun Reddy came and conquered! Now make way for Kabir Singh.” Being bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, the remake has already garnered some hype in the B-town. Shahid Kapoor, who would be returning after a break, started shooting for the film from 21 October.
Arjun Reddy, which released in August last year, not only struck a chord with the Telugu audiences but also caught the attention of movie enthusiasts all over the nation. Apart from a riveting performance by Vijay Devarakonda who played the titular role, the movie was also hailed for its brilliant script and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s bold narration.
Arjun Reddy is also being remade in Tamil, with actor Vikram’s son, Dhruv playing the lead. Titled Varma, the film is being directed by National Award-winning director Bala.
