Major changes have been brought forward by the Human Resource Development Ministry and the head Ganta Srinivasa Rao has released them yesterday. There have been a lot of structural and policy changes and all these are designed to reduce the stress and pressure on students. Stringent action was encouraged by CM Chandrbabu Naidu after the student suicides. In an address, the Human Resource Development Minister released dates of Intermediate Examinations which are February 28th to March 19th of 2018. The major changes are –
1.The major change introduced is that the results of the First Year Intermediate Education will be awarded in grades. The Board of Intermediate Examinations Andhra Pradesh will not announce marks along with the results. They will be declared only when lists are issued to the students directly. For Second year Intermediate Examination marks will be given this year but will be replaced by grades for the forthcoming educational session.
2.Practical Examinations will be held in jumbling system.
3.A helpline number for students will be readied to address grievances of colleges and students.
4.200 Junior Colleges have been de-recognized for violating the rules of Board of Intermediate Examinations. These include 5 colleges of NRI educational institutions, 4 of Narayana Educational Institutions and 2 of Sri Chaitanya Goup. These were the colleges at which the students were driven to commit suicide.
Parents have been cautioned to verify credentials and quality of college before admitting their ward.
