The summer internship placement drive for the MBA batch of 2023 has been completed at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Visakhapatnam. A ground-breaking record has been created in regards to the stipends offered to students this year. Despite the economic effect caused by the COVID-19 virus, international companies haven’t backed out from hiring Indian talent. The 2023 drive for placements conducted at the campus had a turnout of nearly 60 companies.
The global firms have offered an internship stipend as high as ₹ 3.5 lakhs for a period of two months for a student from IIM Visakhapatnam, making it the highest ever in its history. The average stipend being offered is around ₹ 57000. The placement cell has always been an attraction to this campus as they keep outdoing themselves every year.
While talking about this year’s turnout, Somashekara M.N, the Career Development Services officer at IIM-V said, “The turnout this year has been tremendous, and our students have done very well. Despite the pandemic, many global companies have come out to offer internships and it is very inspiring to see our students grab such high stipends.”
The students are well versed in many fields such as Strategies, Products, Analytics, Marketing, etc. With passion, confidence, and rigour, the students have proven to outdo themselves. The 2020-22 batch has also received 100 per cent placements
, with the highest salary package being 31.6 Lakhs per annum. IIM Visakhapatnam offers many programmes in Under Graduation and Post Graduation levels. They also offer the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship Certification Programme.
