Visakhapatnam and Indian Cricket Team
Visakhapatnam has been a happy hunting ground for the Indian cricket team. They last played an ODI here in October last year when they defeated New Zealand by a comfortable margin.
Visakhapatnam has many special cricketing memories associated with it. In fact, one of our country’s favourite cricketing sons, M.S.Dhoni had announced himself on the international stage when he had mauled Pakistan’s bowling attack and went on to score his first ODI century. He made 148 runs in this match and still believes that this match was a turning point in his career.
However, much to the disappointment of many fans, Virat Kohli won’t be appearing in the match here on 17th December due to personal reasons. Opening batsman Rohit Sharma will be leading the side in Virat’s absence.
