The stage is being set for the upcoming India vs Australia T20I in the city. Slated to be played on 24 February, the game will be flagging off the bilateral series between the two countries. Apart from making arrangements at ACA VDCA International Cricket Stadium in the city, the authorities have also been focussing on tightening the security in Vizag ahead of the game this weekend.
Arun Kumar of Andhra Cricket Association conducted a special meeting with police officials of the city at the stadium on Monday. Speaking at the meeting, he discussed the measures to be taken to ensure the safety of the cricketers. Reportedly, discussions were also made with traffic police to take care of the parking woes that are generally encountered during an international match at the stadium.
It may be noted that the second India vs Australia T20I will be held on 27 February in Bengaluru. Later, the two teams will lock horns in a 5-match ODI series. Hyderabad, Nagpur, Ranchi, Mohali, and Delhi will be hosting the ODIs.
The tickets for the T20I in Vizag have been priced at Rs 500, Rs 1200, Rs 1600, Rs 2000, Rs 4000 and Rs 5000. India last played an international match in Visakhapatnam in October last year when they took on West Indies. Not only did the game witness Virat Kohli go past 10,000 runs in ODI cricket but also ended in a tie, giving the fans a bang for their buck.
