Visakhapatnam all set to host the 3rd ODI between India and Sri Lanka

Visakhapatnam is all set to host the 3rd ODI between the Indian cricket team and Sri Lanka on December 17th. The Lankans are currently touring India for three Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20s. The ACA-VDCA stadium is one of the venues for the three ODIs, while the other two venues are Mohali and Dharamshala.

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has revealed the ticket prices for this much-anticipated match. The tickets, which are ranged between Rs. 500 and Rs. 6,000, will be made available for sale online and through ticket counters. The denominations for the tickets have been determined to be Rs.500, Rs. 1200,  Rs. 1,800, Rs. 2,500, Rs. 3,500 and Rs. 6,000. The ACA-VDCA stadium in the city has a capacity of accommodating close to 27,500 spectators

Visakhapatnam and Indian cricket team

Visakhapatnam has been a happy hunting ground for the Indian cricket team. They last played an ODI here in October last year when they defeated New Zealand by a big margin.

The ACA-VDCA stadium was even given the Test status recently in 2016 and much to the satisfaction of everyone, India comprehensively defeated the English side in the city’s first Test match.

Visakhapatnam has many special cricketing memories associated with it. In fact, one of our country’s favourite cricketing sons, M.S.Dhoni had announced himself on the international stage when he mauled Pakistan’s bowling attack and went on to score his first ODI century. He made 148 runs in this match and still believes that this match was a turning point in his career.

Also, Captain Virat Kohli has some fond memories of the ground. He played some match-winning knocks at this venue against teams like Australia and the West Indies.

Moreover, many cricketers just love our city’s scenic beauty and relish the opportunity of playing here.
