“Bharat Parv” is being organized by the Government of India as part of the Republic Day 2018 celebrations across the nation from 20 January to 31 January 2018. The aim is to generate a patriotic mood, promote the rich cultural diversity of the country, to ensure wider participation of the public and to popularize the idea of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. As part of this, Indian Navy Eastern Naval Command is conducting a string of events for raising awareness about the ‘Silent Service’ among citizens. As part of the events ahead of Republic Day celebrations a Health Walk was organized at Naval Base, Visakhapatnam on 20 January 2018. The 10 km long health walk flagged off by Vice Admiral MS Pawar AVSM, VSM, Chief of Staff ENC and saw participation of over 800 naval personnel, defense civilians and their families.
Also part of the celebrations in the run up to Republic Day by Indian Navy are visit to Eastern Fleet ship on Sunday, 21 January for school children. School children accompanied by their staff may visit the ship where students would be given career counseling and provided information on various entry options for the youth to join the Indian Navy.
Eastern Naval Command, Visakhapatnam is also organizing a public performance of Naval Band at VUDA Children Arena on Tuesday, 23 January 18 at 6:30 pm.
Quiz and essay competitions are also being conducted in Naval Children Schools and Sainik Schools, Korukonda and Bhubaneswar during the period.
The students of the Navy Children School are also set to stage a street play “Sashakt Naari, Sukhi Parivar, Samrudh Desh” meaning “Empowered Women, Happy family, Prosperous Nation” at the Beach Road on Sunday, 21 January at 6:30 am.
These events aim at better understanding and relationship between people of Visakhapatnam and the Indian Navy and a more fruitful engagement for the Indian Cause.
