As part of the Andhra University-Defence Academic Project, the Indian Navy would be collaborating with Andhra University in Vizag for 10 research projects.
Vice-Admiral and Chief of Materiel, GS Pabby, has confirmed the same on Wednesday on his visit to Eastern Naval Command. He has attended a meeting with Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao and other officials of Andhra University.
Speaking on the occasion, Pabby said that the Indian Navy Chief has been showing keen interest in collaborating with Andhra University in the areas of academic and research. He said that the Indian Navy and Andhra University would sign the Memorandum of Understanding on research collaborations.
Pabby also mentioned that the Indian Navy is keen on partnering with the varsity to improvise academics and research. Regarding this, Memorandum of Understanding would also be signed.
Earlier, Admiral Sunil Lamba, Chief of Naval Staff, Government of India, said that Indian Navy would collaborate with Andhra University in Vizag on research front to initiate indigenous technology for the Navy. Regarding defence courses, a MoU has been signed between the Chief and Vice-Chancellor of the varsity.
During the meeting it was discussed that the Diploma, certificate, degree, P.G. and Ph.D. courses may be pursued in A.U. campus on the signing of MoU, mutually agreed.
It was also highlighted by V.C. that A.U wishes to extend its services to the people who serve the nation. Prof. Rao also admitted that if Navy personnel pursue their studies in A.U. it enhances the Brand image of A.U.
