Innovative Science Exhibition on wheels by Larsen and Toubro in Visakhapatnam

A very innovative Science Exhibition on wheels in being organised by Larsen and Toubro which is called Moon-shot Wheels and it is coming to Visakhapatnam.

The Science Exhibition on wheels Moon-shot Wheels is being organised by Larsen and Toubro in Visakhapatnam in association with Agastya Foundation. The programme will be 5-day interactive space science fair at Visakhapatnam covering 300 children each day. It seeks to educate and develop interest in children in space education. ‘Moonshot Wheels’ aims to educate rural children about space missions and its lunar landing program. Team Indus, which is one of the five teams across the world shortlisted for Google Lunar XPRIZE, initiated this program in collaboration with Agastya International Foundation to bring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics alive for children. It was none other than Mr. Ratan Tata who flagged off ‘Moon-shot Wheels’

The bus will carry 16 science experiments, spacecraft scaled model, satellite tracking, moon rover and an experience zone.

The experiments will be explained in the local language by the trainers for the benefit of students. At the end of each trip in the state, there will be a quiz and a snapshot will be taken of the child who performed the best, with the child’s aspiration and the principal’s signature written on the back. These snapshots will be taken along with Indus’ Moon mission.

Children take it all

As part of this programme, children will not only get to learn about these technologies but will also get to interact with scientists. Team Indus Foundation has conceptualized Moonshot Wheels under ‘Har Indian Ka Moon Shot’ campaign, which looks at bringing every Indian on board the private Moon Mission. Children will get a feel of the lunar surface, they will be able to visualize the satellites passing above them. We are believing that this initiative will generate curiosity among the students and will give rise to new budding future space scientists. Other good stuff include:

  • Engage with models that explain concepts related to astronomy and space science
  • Do It Yourself activities
  • Interact with the Team Indus moon rover
  • Watch interactive videos
  • Experience virtual reality

One Science Exhibition, many stops

Till date the Moon-shot Wheels has covered 16 locations (Bangalore, Pune, Raigad, Mumbai, Nasik, Ahmednagar, Kharel, Kapadwanj, Ahmadabad, Jaipur, Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi, Patna, Varanasi, Bhopal, Nizamabad) from 8 states (Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana) and next locations are Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam.

Do not miss the opportunity to participate and experience first hand space feels for yourself. Make sure children have the brilliant exposure for sure.
