IPL 2022 LSG vs DC: match predictions, DY Patil Stadium records and stats

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their 4th match. Despite losing the toss in their last match against SRH, and being sent out to bat first, the Lucknow team has successfully managed to defend a score of 169. On the other hand, DC has lost their match, failing to chase a target of 172. While LSG won 2 out of their matches, DC has won one match out of the two they played. Here is a detailed pre-match report of the 15th match of IPL 2022, LSG vs DC, hosted by the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

LSG probable XI

LSG has a balanced side, with both the bowling and batting departments delivering consistently. Especially, skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda have been the top performers so far. Deepak Hooda, who has scored two half-centuries in three matches, is also a handy bowler who can get crucial breakthroughs. Having played their last match in the same venue and won it, LSG is looking strong with depth in all the departments. Ayush Badoni has been a revelation, who has scored some quick runs down the order, including a half-century in the first match. The Lucknow side is expected to take the field with an unchanged playing XI. Nevertheless, the LSG batsmen have continued to struggle against the seamers. With DC having a decent pace attack, the Lucknow batsmen must be careful during the initial overs.

Playing XI: KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manish Pandey, Evin Lewis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Andrew Tye, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan

DC probable XI

Delhi Capitals will look forward to capitalising on the good batting surface at DY Patil. It will be a good opportunity for Prithvi Shaw to find his form and score some runs in the top order. Rishabh Pant has been in decent form and will be crucial in playing match-winning innings. In the bowling department, Shardul Thakur has been a huge disappointment, giving away close to 100 runs in the 8 overs he bowled this season. Though he tried to compensate for it with his batting in the first match, he is expected to perform with the ball today against a good looking batting lineup of LSG. The addition of Mustafizur Rahman will prove to be of great use, especially with the DY Patil pitch favouring the pacers. Though DC has lost their last match, they are expected to make no changes to their side today.

Playing XI: Prithvi Shaw, Tim Seifert, Mandeep Singh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman

Venue records

In the IPL 2022, four matches have been hosted by the DY Patil Stadium so far. Though it is majorly a high scoring ground, it has been difficult for the chasing teams to score runs. In the last match here, LSG has successfully defended a target of 170 against SRH. The pitch is said to assist the spinners apart from being a good batting track.

Enjoy the LSG vs DC match, and stay tuned for more IPL 2022 updates.
