A major boom in the IT jobs market is predicted and IT Minister Nara Lokesh is optimistic about the growth in Andhra Pradesh.
While informing the Assembly regarding the IT scenario currently in the state, IT Minister Nara Lokesh has expressed his optimism regarding the upward graph of number of IT companies and IT jobs being created in Andhra Pradesh. In his report, 194 companies had been started in Andhra Pradesh since division. In addition to this, 12,294 jobs have been created so far.
CM Chandrababu Naidu has taken it on a priority basis to develop the IT sector in the state and so give the much needed boom to the IT jobs market. The expected figure is at 1 lakh jobs created in AP by 2019. Development of IT hub in Visakhapatnam and other places will create a favorable ecosystem for IT companies to establish and operate their business here. To make the deal more lucrative, state government has been extending cooperation by way of incentives, subsidized rents etc.
The IT industry has provided direct employment to 12,274 people directly and 36,882 people indirectly. 408 proposals for investment have been received by the State Government amounting to 14,735 crores creating 1.35 lakh job opportunities. Millennium Towers in Visakhapatnam is to be opened by the end of November and companies have favoured Visakhapatnam more but Amaravati and Rayalseema are not far behind.
