5 typical experiences we all have at Jagadamba theatre

We all have been to this place at least once. Jagadamba, the dominating movie house located right at the heart of our beloved Visakhapatnam, is a special place for many. An iconic landmark that has stood the test of time, Jagadamba is still one of the most popular theatres in the state.

Be it for an off-beat English film or a Telugu film featuring a superstar, this theatre is our “go-to” place. Apart from catering a decent cinematic experience, Jagadamba also offers us some other typical experiences. Here are 5 such things that we all face at this famous place.

#1 THE #FDFS FEELS

For those who do not know this acronym, FDFS stands for “First Day First Show”!

Those bursting crackers, the massive fan-club flexi banners, the house-full boards outside the gate, and others mingled with the typical Jagadamba frenzy are something we can’t get enough of. Right from the deafening whistles to the “after-movie high”, Jagadamba is a special place for any big movie’s FDFS!

#2 THOSE QUEUES FOR TICKETS

The tickets for “xyz” movie releasing on dd-mm-yyyy will be available at the ticket counter from morning ‘T’ am. The tickets will also be available on www.abcd.com.” Ever saw a board displaying this message at Jagadamba? Btw, do you really think you would be lucky enough to get a ticket for your favourite movie’s FDFS at Jagadamba? Before answering this, just remember that people form queues from the midnight itself.

#3 THE PARKING WOES

A top view of the theatre and its surroundings would give you an estimate of the number of vehicles that have headed to the theatre. While those who come in four-wheelers really need to sweat it out on some occasions, the two-wheeler guys can skillfully sneak into any fine corner. Also, don’t forget to greet that “parking uncle” whom we have been seeing since ages!

#4 DUDE, IS THIS RAMADEVI OR SARADA?

No matter how many times you’ve been here, the sister screens always confuse you. The first floor accommodates Ramadevi while the second accommodates Sarada (Positive!). Don’t be surprised if doubts persist in your head until the movie name appears on the screen.

#5 THE UPPER HOUSE OR THE LOWER HOUSE?

The ground floor is for the Rs 100 ticket and the Top floor is for the Rs 118 ticket. Remember this fact to save yourself from some major embarrassments! (Trust me, many fall into this trap).
