Pawan Kalyan led JanaSena Party had supported the NDA during the 2014 polls in Andhra Pradesh. The then-newly-born party, thanks to its charisma that was powered by Pawan’s terrific mass appeal, ended up playing a crucial role in deciding the fate of the elections with TDP being crowned as the new ruling party.
However, the ensuing four years saw things turn sore between the two parties. With less than a year to go the elections in 2019, both JanaSena and TDP find at the opposite ends of a river, with each of them trying to come into power. As per the latest developments, it has been learned that JanaSena Party is likely to join hands with left parties-CPI and CPI (M)-for the upcoming polls.
A series of meetings was held between the respective parties and it looks as if they have decided to work on a common agends. “It was decided that the Jana Sena, the CPI and the CPI (M) will join hands and fight together with a common action plan,” Jana Sena political affairs committee convener, Madasu Gangadharam, was quoted as saying.
The three parties would soon be meeting in Vijayawada to hold a state-wide convention where further action plans could be discussed.
Earlier, Pawan Kalyan’s JanaSena Party also conducted joint protests with the left parties demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh.
