A trade business team from Japan has visited Vizag on Monday and plan to set up desalination projects in Vizag.
Water Treatment Systems of Toray Industries Inc. Sales Director Masahiro Fujita, Assistant Manager Satoshi Ishihara and Dotcome CEO Masashi Kawaguchi conveyed that they want to partnership with the State government and other local bodies. They have met the AP Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation (APCCIF) President G. Sambasiva Rao to discuss about the opportunities in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Vizag as well.
Addressing the delegates, G. Sambasiva Rao said, “Desalination, a process of converting seawater into potable water, is good for solving the drinking water requirements of coastal cities such as Visakhapatnam.”
“It is used for water intake for existing industries and help meet the increasing demand in the upcoming industrial nodes planned along the Vizag-Chennai Industrial Corridor and Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor,” he mentioned.
Sambasiva Rao further mentioned that Japanese companies like Kobe Steel Group and Kobelco Cranes are investing in the state while Toshiba Corporation and Hitachi projects are listed in the pipeline.
The Indian subsidiary of Toray Industries Inc, Toray Industries (India) Pvt Ltd from Japan, is already manufacturing products which are used for making diapers. They are also manufacturing automotive, electrical and FMCG products.
