#1 School of Law, GITAM (deemed to be university):
The Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM-deemed to be university), located at Rushikonda, is one of the most reputed and known colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The School of Law, GITAM (deemed to be university) is one of the best law colleges in Vizag. The institute offers courses such as Law in Five Year Integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), Law in Three Year Integrated B.A. LL.B, (Hons.), Law in One Year Full-time LL.M. (IPR & Cyber Law), Law in One Year Full-time LL.M. (Corporate & Commercial Laws), Law in One Year Full-time LL.M. (International Law). Candidates aspiring to pursue Law from GITAM (deemed to be university) should score well in the LSAT or CLAT exams. Aspirants can also find admission into the college by appearing for GITAM Admission Test (GAT), based on which one can avail themselves for scholarship provided by the institution.
#2 Damodara Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU):
Initially named as Andhra Pradesh University of Law in its founding year 2008, this university was renamed as Damodara Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) in the year 2012. Located at Nyayaprastha, Sabbavaram (21kms from Visakhapatnam), this is one of the most reputed law colleges, not only in Visakhapatnam but throughout Andhra Pradesh. The courses offered are B.A. LL.B (Hons.) and other postgraduate courses such as one-year LL.M, Ph.D, and LL.D. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the entrance exam for aspirants to get into the university. The university is served by some of the most experienced faculty from national universities such as National Law School of India University, Chanakya National Law University, Gujarat National Law University, and other reputed universities.
#3 Andhra University College of Law:
This law college was first established at Machilipatnam in 1945. Then it was relocated to Andhra University in Visakhapatnam (then Waltair) in 1949, making it one of the oldest law colleges in Vizag. This historical law college is served by some of the most experienced and respected faculty in the country. Some of the notable alumni of this law college are M. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India, D.V. Subba Rao, former Chairman of Bar Council of India, Amareswari Konamaneni, Judge (Retd.) A.P. High Court, and many others. The courses offered by Andhra University College of Law are LL.B (three years), LL.M (two years), and Ph.D, and LL.B (five years). Aspirants must do exceedingly well in the AP LAWCET exam for entry into the university. This college was renamed as B.R. Ambedkar College of Law, in the year 1991 in his honour.
#4 MRVRGR Law College:
Located in Vizianagaram, MRVRGR Law College was established in the year 1986 and is one of the twelve educational institutions under the Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science (MANSAS) Trust. This law college offers a three year LL.B course; the only one offered till date since its inception. One must take the AP LAWCET for admission into this college.
#5 All Saints Christian Law College:
Established in the year 1991, this law college is located near RTC complex, Visakhapatnam. The courses offered by this college are LL.B (three years and five years) and LL.M. Candidates willing to join this college must appear for the AP LAWCET.
