The officials state that there is no data about the number of defunct bulbs; however they are opening service centres for the replacement of these bulbs to the consumers.
The superintendent officer of the APEPDCL for Visakhapatnam, TV Surya Prakash said that they have planned to set up 13 replacement centres across Vizag and so far, six centres are launched and the rest of them will be launched soon. He also said that these bulbs have been distributed by the Energy Efficiency Services Limited.
The managing director of the EESL, Saurabh Kumar said that they have received many complaints about these defunct bulbs by the consumers from around the state and ensured that the EESL will soon replace the defunct LED bulbs. This can be done as these LED bulbs which have been distributed are within the warranty period of three years.
