Mahesh Kathi
Film critic Mahesh Kathi has once again made the headlines with his controversial statements. The film critic, who is also a political commentator, sent down a series of tweets on Friday in which he took a jibe at Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan. Pawan Kalyan, who is currently on a 4-day tour as a part of his ‘Chalore Chalore Chal’, has been giving speeches at several public gatherings over the past few days. While citing the statements made by the JSP founder in these speeches, Kathi Mahesh made some controversial tweets.
In fact, Mahesh also took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in one of his tweets.
The tweet read, “You joined hands with a murderer like Narendra Modi and canvassed for him during the previous elections, and now, a person like Sekhar Kammula who advised against collaborating with religious fundamentalists has become a wrong person to you! Does becoming a Prime Minister absolve him of his crimes committed in Gujarat? Your madness is visible Pawan Kalyan.”
The tweet angered many followers of Narendra Modi and Pawan Kalyan. In fact, BJP MLA T Raja Singh tagged Hyderabad Police in a reply and asked them to take action against Mahesh Kathi.
Hyderabad Police replied to the MLA’s tweet and assured him that the required steps will be taken.
Mahesh Kathi, however, retaliated to the tweet and said, “An online complaint by an MLA who doesn’t know about (the) law doesn’t call for any action. No one needs to panic. The complaint is invalid. It doesn’t even qualify to be a case. I know more about (the) law. So Please don’t worry.”
Mahesh Kathi has taken several jibes at Pawan Kalyan in the past and caught the ire of his fans. These recent tweets too have perturbed the fans who are displaying their anger through Twitter.
