Software giant Microsoft is all set to make its debut in Andhra Pradesh. Reportedly, Microsoft is setting up a centre in Andhra Pradesh and the state government is making all efforts to bring the IT bigwig to the state. After inaugurating eight small IT companies in the city, Chandrababu Naidu said he was instrumental in bringing Microsoft to Hyderabad to boost the IT sector and he would do the same for AP now. He said he’s confident of the outcome after prior discussions with Microsoft.
The eight IT companies he inaugurated would provide employment to 300 people collectively in various sectors. The companies are located in the VUDA complex in Seethammadhara. They would be given concession in rentals by VUDA. “We have identified a total of 40 such IT companies, most of them set up by the non-resident Telugu people in the USA and they have agreed to set up shop in Visakhapatnam, Amaravati and Tirupati. Most of them are likely to arrive here and we are hopeful of providing jobs to 2,000 once they start operating in a full-fledged manner,” he said.
Despite the small size of the recently inaugurated IT companies, they would be conceptualising cutting-edge technologies and would play a critical role in the e-governance plans the CM has.
The CM also said that he talked with representatives of Reliance Jio and they have agreed to provide free WiFi to all universities and major educational institutes in AP. “
We are taking all steps to build a knowledge society,” he said. This post was last modified on %s = human-readable time difference 3:25 pm
