The prestigious Millennium Tower-A in Visakhapatnam is all set to be inaugurated soon. Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh was quoted as saying, “The Millennium Tower-A is ready for inauguration and we are waiting for a date from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for its opening.” In one of the tweets, he said “glad to witness the progress of Millennium Tower in Vizag. This will stand a testimony to Vizag’s growth resilience.”
The tower, which will be serving IT firms, will also be accompanied by its twin tower, Millennium Tower-B.
Tower-B would be consisting of eight storeys and be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 55 crores, it was earlier reported.
The Millennium Towers are being constructed over 4 acres of land with Rs 145 crores. A parking space, spread over 1.5 lakh square feet, has been allocated too.
The towers will be first given to Conduent Inc to carry out their operations in Visakhapatnam. The company, which is headquartered in New Jersey, offers digital platforms for businesses and governments and operates in 40 countries. Conduent is expected to provide employment to about 5000 people in a phased manner.
It has also been learned that the towers, which are IoT enabled, are being constructed with green technologies and would be capable of resisting winds of speed up to 200 kmph. The towers are expected to serve the purpose of establishing Visakhapatnam as a major hub for Information Technology.
