Content over a Whatsapp group chat reached a bad ending for 3 youths who were abducted by Gajapathinagaram MLA K Appala Naidu. The content of the post was found objectionable by the man in question.
Resorting to action, the MLA got his henchmen to abduct the youth and turned them over to the police. These objectionable chat perpetrators were then arrested and booked by the police. A case has been booked against them under Section 41 of the CrPC at Gajapathinagaram police station based on complaint filed by TDP leader Ravi Sridhar. The youth are Damisetti Chinna Rao of Bondapalli mandal, Narikela Venkatesam of Kinguva and Mamidi Manikantha of Gajapathinagaram town. These youth are all students of a Vizianagaram private college.
According to Times of India, police had grilled the youths who are from Gajapathinagaram constituency regarding a Whatsapp post circulating defaming the MLA Appala Naidu. In the post, a picture of the MLA is accompanied by a caption that reads that the man in question is missing and it is presumed that he is dead as he has been unable to fulfill a single promise made by him.
