Akhil Akkineni’s latest romantic comedy, Most Eligible Bachelor, has been given the thumbs up by the audiences of Vizag. The movie was only released in a few theatres in the city last Friday but positive word-of-mouth has since caused the movie to be released in all major theatres in the city. Celebrating the success of the movie, the MEB team gathered in Visakhapatnam for a ‘Thank You’ meet.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhil Akkineni first thanked all the Vizag fans for watching Most Eligible Bachelor and making it a blockbuster. He spoke about the movie being a major milestone in his film career. He also paid gratitude to the Andhra Pradesh State Government and Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, for allowing theatres to run again at full capacity.
The event was graced by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister, Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, who stated that the AP State Government would always support the Telugu Film Industry (TFI). He also talked about the state’s potential as a shooting location and asked all TFI producers to come forward and shoot 25 percent of their movies in AP. Producer Allu Aravind, Director Bommarillu Bhaskar, and some of the cast members were present at the event.
Starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Most Eligible Bachelor has caused waves in AP, especially in Vizag where many theatres are running housefull shows. While Akhil Akkineni’s performance in the movie has been deemed as career-changing, Pooja Hegde as the comedian Vibha is being widely considered as the true star of the movie. The movie has received largely positive reviews from the critics and has reaped in above-average collections at the box office. Akhil Akkineni will next be seen in the spy thriller Agent while Pooja Hegde will next appear in the multi-starrer Acharya
