In yet another robbery at Vizag’s MVP Colony, a resident has been stolen off valuables, giving rise to concerns among the localites.
Reportedly, a woman, residing alone at the Sector 11 of the area, had left to Mahbubnagar to see her daughter. On Saturday morning, the neighbours had noticed her house’s doors being open and informed the police regarding the same.
As informed by the police, 8 Tolas of gold, 128 grams of Silver and a certain amount of cash were stolen from the house.
With the target’s relative registering a complaint with the police, an investigation is underway to gain further insights.
Earlier, a businessman from MVP Colony had also lost Rs 8 lakhs, along with 750 grams of gold, to another case of robbery. Before this, a 70-year-old woman from the area too, was duped by two individuals and was robbed of Rs. 1 lakh and 300 grams of gold.
Moreover, given the increasing amount of chain-snatching cases in Visakhapatnam, the concern for safety seems to be escalating among the citizens. “The increasing cases of robbery are seriously worrying the citizens. Independent houses, especially with lonely residents, are being targetted more by the miscreants. It’s important to equip houses with proper safety measures and also have CCTV cameras,” opined Sudha Rani, a resident of Vizag.
