Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh launched The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Amaravati chapter and Angels Network AP chapter in Vijayawada on Wednesday. TiE, much similar to the other initiatives launched in Andhra Pradesh, will provide a platform that will encourage the growth of entrepreneurs. The Amaravati chapter is expected to boost the growth of startup ecosystem in the state.
The TiE is a non-profit organisation that is based out of California. The organisation functions with a goal of encouraging entrepreneurs and currently consists of 61 chapters spread across as many as 18 countries. Since its inception in 1992, the TiE’s economic wealth creation is estimated to be around USD 200 billion.
In India, TiE has chapters present in the cities of Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Coimbatore.
Earlier in the day, state’s Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was present in Visakhapatnam to attend a three-day international conference organised by the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India.
