The City of Destiny is gearing up to facilitate over 5000 youths from 25 states in the country for the upcoming 21st National Youth Festival from January 12th to 16th, 2017 which is being organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
District collector, Pravin Kumar, at a meeting with the members of various committees has said that this fest will begin on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. He stated that there would be competitions being conducted in 18 fields including, music, dance, vocals, debates and folk music as well. He also added that there will be youth conferences, cultural and sports being organized. The collector said that this will mark an opportunity for all the youngsters to stage their talents to the entire nation.
The venues which have been identified to conduct these events are Kalabharathi Auditorium, AU Convocation Hall, Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium, TLN Sabha Hall, Dr. YVS Murthy Auditorium, AU engineering grounds and other places wherein these events can be carried out. The accommodation for the participants and the delegates would be given at the hostels of Andhra University and other private hostels.
There have been committees formed to take care of the events, transportation, accommodation, food, medical, sanitation and electrical facilities. Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will be the chairman for the steering committee while Ministers Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu and Ganta Srinivas Rao and MPs, MLCs and MPs from the district will be the members of the same.
