The city is all set to host the three-day 12th edition of the Paediatric Endoscopic Surgeons India (PESI) conference starting today.
Organised jointly by Omni R K Hospital and the Department of Paediatric Surgery, King George Hospital along with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana chapters of paediatric surgeons, the conference will aim at explaining advantages of minimally invasive surgery and elaborating on the procedures involved in Laparoscopic surgery and speedy recovery.
Specialists, practicing surgeons, students and professors from various parts of the nation will be seen participating in ‘Pesicon 2017’. Several delegates from abroad will also attend the conference held for the first time in the port city.
Reportedly at a press conference, M.Srinivas Rao, paediatric surgeon and general secretary of AP chapter of Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons said, “Specialists like Hock Tan from Malaysia and Sanjeev Khurana from Australia will present lecture-demo and offer surgery tips on minimally invasive surgery. The trauma is minimal in this kind of surgical procedure compared to open surgery and can be performed on newborn babies as well.”
