Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Group will be setting up a mega food park in Vizianagaram of Andhra Pradesh. To be established over 172.84 acres with an estimated cost of Rs 634 crore, the park is expected to provide employment to about 33,400 people directly and indirectly.
Ramdev met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently and discussed regarding the same. As per a release from the Chief Minister’s office, the mega food park will be set up in Chinnaraopalli village of Vizianagaram district.
As per a statement from the CM’s office, crops including Barley, Rice, Sesame, Maize, Jowar, Pomegranate, Mango, Chilli, Onion, Ginger, Peas, Potato, Turmeric, Pulses, Red Gram and Papaya will be processed in the unit.
Also, reportedly, core processing facilities including IQF freezer for fruits and vegetables, aseptic filling and pulping line, pre-cooling and ripening chambers, cold storage with blast freezer, drying grinding, grading packing facility for spices and grains and a dry warehouse will be made available at the facility.
The mega food park by Patanjali in Vizianagaram will also have a juice extraction unit, which will have a capacity of 1,500 MT per day, proposed with a total investment of Rs. 45.20 crore. A processing unit for juice, biscuits, noodles, frozen vegetables and spices will also be available.
Patanjali also signed an MoU with the Telangana government to set up a processing unit worth Rs 1000 crore in the state.
