JanaSena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan, on Thursday, held a special interaction with several NGOs in Visakhapatnam. The event comprised representatives tackling different issues including urban poverty, road safety awareness, environmental change and blood donation awareness among others.
Interacting with Pawan Kalyan, the representatives not only shared the problems in their respective fields of operation but also made a few suggestions to formulate better policies for addressing widely prevalent issues in the society.
“The humanity in today’s society owes its cause to NGOs. Also, it is because of the relentless efforts put in by NGOs that the government officials tend to act on certain issues,” Pawan Kalyan said.
“Since childhood, I too have always been inclined towards helping the society. A few years ago, when I associated with an NGO to seek a solution to the problem of fluorosis in Nalgonda, a few political leaders foiled us,” he shared.
The JanaSena Chief said that while people would come together to riot on the basis of caste, religion and region, few would turn up to bring about an accountable change in the society.
Referring to the Uddanam kidney disease, Pawan Kalyan stated that while the problem hasn’t been solved entirely, they have succeeded in taking the issue to the world’s attention. He encouraged the NGOs to take an active part in policy making and urged them to stand united as he highlighted the significance of the same in achieving common good for the society.
Stating that JanaSena Party would be the public’s voice, Kalyan urged the individuals to pressurise political leaders to initiate a change. He further added that the suggestions and advice collected from the NGOs would play a part in forming the party’s policy.
Senior leader Nadendla Manohar was also present at the event in Visakhapatnam.
